Peaches

Forst part of a diptych of two original prints on BFK Rives 250g HMP paper, bound in linen with silver stamping.

On the occasion of the exhibition ‘Constable, Delacroix, Friedrich, Goya – A Shock to the Senses’ in Dresden, in 2013, Luc Tuymans created two monumental murals of ‘Peaches’ and ‘Technicolor’ in the stairwell of the Schauspielhaus at the Postplatz in Dresden (Albertinum, Galerie Neue Meister).

Peaches and Technicolor initially were paintings on canvas and were shown for the first time in the London Zwirner gallery in the fall of 2012, together with the ALLO! suite. Both subjects are derived from an advertising film dating 1913 of which the blurry and heavily colour-saturated images intrigued the artist. Diptych of 2 original screenprints on BFK Rives velin 250g.
